Virginia Dominion Power reported last night that they had gotten service back up to 760,000 of the million customers who lost power over the weekend. Their website says they have returned power to all but 79,643 of the 831,912 in Northern Virginia.
They set a goal on Sunday to have 85 percent back by the end of today, 90 percent by Thursday night.
Gone from the company's interactive outage map are the red dots in Arlington that indicated pockets of 2,500 people or more without power. There are still many dots that indicate 1,000 people or fewer without power.
The company said in a statement that they plan to have "virtually all remaining customers by Saturday night. However, in areas of the most-severe damage, service may not be restored fully until Sunday."
Earlier they reported they had 900 bucket trucks working the storm.
"We understand how challenging the situation can be for our customers without power, and we thank them for their patience," said Rodney Blevins, vice president of distribution operations. "We are continuing to work diligently around the clock until power is restored to all customers."
