If you are a fan of the popular "Whipple Report," get ready to like it by another name. "Whipple" comes from Tom Whipple, the husband of long-time politician, Democrat Mary Margaret Whipple.
Mr. Whipple stopped producing the report--a morning email that clips headlines and stories about Virginia government and politics--in 2011, and the Virginia Public Access Project picked it up.
VPAP is nonpartisan, however, and Executive Director David Poole said last night that the name will be changing in order to remove the lefty tilt. It was always the intention of VPAP to keep the name for a short time in order to maintain continuity when VPAP took control, he said.
