Just an update before the holiday weekend:

Earlier this morning, a water main gushed onto S. 12th and S. Clark streets in Crystal City. It shut off water to area buildings. At about 3 this afternoon, the county said they shut down construction on the Boeing headquarters in Crystal City since water poured for hours into the construction site.

Just before 5p.m. today, the county said they had no word on when work might restart on Boeing's headquarters. However, water has been returned to the buildings, and crews will work through the night on the break.

The county said people in surrounding buildings should expect intermittent water outages throughout the evening. Work has moved slowly because the break was near gas lines, and crews were wary of rupturing them.

No word yet on what caused the break.
