Coffee with a Side of DON'T SIGN FOR IT!
In the news of the day, Patch has a good story about the new business plan for the Artisphere. It's just over its first year and had a rocky start; now it looks like it's line for a major--read difficult--overhaul.
Everyone has coverage of the meeting between the county board and their counterparts at the state level. They discussed the legislative agenda for the upcoming session in Richmond...and how much they don't like the Republicans. This is our story; and this one is from the Sun Gazette.
On the business news side...
The Post is reporting that American Airline's flights out of the region's airports should not be affected for now (and frequent flyer miles will be honored).
The Post also has a story about the dwindling available retail space in localities. The old strip malls are filling up again, and nobody's making new ones.
Finally, again from the Post, DON'T SIGN THAT CREDIT CARD receipt or you'll spend all your money! I read the abstract and short introduction from the study the Post quotes, and the abstract seems to point to a relationship, and they imply causality, but I don't see it clearly listed in the abstract. That is, they see a direct link between signing and, if you're in a store you like, spending. Somehow admitting that we are who we are makes us more likely to identfy, and I guess support, those around us. Hmmmmm....
