Plans for the plaza along N. Quincy street (at left) include a "fountain wall" and outdoor seating under an awning.
The latest plans for a plaza on the former Arlington Funeral Home site in Virginia Square are public on the county's website.
The plans before the county's site plan review committee include a "fountain wall," an open stage-like area, and retail seating under an awning. The plaza will run from the corner of N. Quincy Street and N. Fairfax Drive to N. 10th Street, one block from Arlington Central Library.
The plans are advancing as Studio 39 Landscape Architects included images of possible lighting, pavement, awnings, plants and other amenities in the plans.
These plans are part of the site plan process which requires Crimson Developers to finalize the plaza with the county before proceeding with construction of their planned building at 3901 N. Fairfax Drive. The west wall of that building will face the plaza.
