Families with small children are encouraged to come to Bat Fest Arlington early. A bat talk for young children and their families begins at 6:30 p.m., with a bat habitat hike just afterwards. For adults and families with older children, a talk begins at 7:30 p.m. Other activities are ongoing throughout the evening.
Wild bats begin flying at Gulf Branch just after dusk.
Bat Fest Arlington admission is $5 per person. Space is limited, and registration is strongly recommended. All children under 14 must register with an accompanying adult; registration is not required for children age 2 and under. To register, visit https://www.registration.arlingtonva.us or call 703-228-4747 (activity number: 642852-G for those with young children or 642852-H for others).
In the event of rain, Bat Fest will move inside the nature center. The Gulf Branch parking lot will be closed for the event, and attendees are encouraged to park on either Military Road or 36th Road North.
