The Rain Barrel That Fills But Doesn't

I watched as the water dripped out of the downspout into the barrel. And I didn't see any leaks. The other day after a rain, it filled and held water. So, it's getting water, not leaking, yet not filling.

Sandy is expected to hit the area sometime on Sunday. Lots of wind, rain, and such. Here's a post to help you see what is being done ahead of time. The slow moving storm will not be out of area until Wednesday, NWS says.

Trips to the hospital hit 30 percent higher than usual over the weekend, but dropped to 25 percent over normal by Monday. Most of the storm-related visits were “non-life-threatening, heat-related” injuries. Assisted living facility has power again.

Dominion Power reported last night that about 3/4 of the million people without power have had it restored. About 80K of 830K customers in NoVa are still without. Power may be back for everyone by Saturday, some may have to wait for Sunday.
